Life insurance protection

Term life insurance pays a death benefit if the insured dies while coverage is in force during a selected term. Permanent life insurance is designed to remain in force beyond a selected term when policy requirements are met. Indexed universal life may use a carrier-defined indexed-crediting method for cash value, while policy charges and loans can affect policy values and death benefits.

Retirement-income education

A fixed indexed annuity is an insurance contract issued by an insurer rather than direct ownership of index investments. Contract interest-crediting may reference an external index under caps, spreads, or participation rates. Surrender charges, withdrawal limits, optional benefits, and insurer-backed guarantees are governed by the specific contract.

Estate and health planning

A will directs property at death and may be administered through probate. A revocable trust can hold titled assets during life and after death, but an attorney prepares the legal documents. Health plans define benefits, cost sharing, enrollment rules, and provider-network terms in the plan documents.
